Best Summer Ever!

As I write this, I'm sitting in my new college dorm room which I moved into today, in front of my desktop computer (which thankfully I was able to bring this year!), and honestly, even though it feels like I picked up right where I left off largely, I still kind of miss home. It's weird, being in a strangely familiar dorm room with entirely new people. And I've only briefly seen a couple of my friends from last year--I'm hoping to have lunch with some tomorrow but they haven't picked a time and place yet--which further cements it. I feel like I'm in a weird space between feeling like some sort of seasoned veteran and feeling entirely new to the place. And since my roommates have all been here for a few days for orientation (one's a transfer and the other two are freshmen) they have their own massive friend group, which I'm still figuring out. (Like twenty people--pretty much our entire hall!)

But I think I also miss home because I had the best summer ever!! I remember at the start of the summer, I was telling myself how I wanted to make this my best summer ever, and I think I succeeded. I went to Korea, and because of that also my first vacation in ages, my first flight, my first public transport experience, and more; I went on my first date (and another date with the same guy); I got my driver's license; I went on some day trips; got on HRT and ADHD meds; and just generally hung out with Blue and Green more than I ever have before! We were hanging out two to three times a week almost every week, and even when we weren't hanging out sometimes I'd call Blue. (Green doesn't answer his phone a lot.)

Even though I got my heart broken this summer, it still turned out to be my best summer ever--so far, at least! :D And hey, in the end I ended up going on some dates with a different guy anyways (and I'm still talking to him), and there's another guy I'm talking to as well.

This summer was really great. Now let's hope the school year is just as great! ^o^
