Well, when I finished my bio class, I thought I'd have so much more time for hobbies. Which is right, I guess, Except for this week I've been feeling extremely demotivated. Maybe I'm just crashing because this is the first mostly free time I've had all summer, but I also think my ADHD is getting to me. I was supposed to do a good deal of stuff today and I knew I could do it. I added it up and it was only like three or four hours of stuff for the whole day, but I didn't get half of it done. So I think I should try and go easy on myself tomorrow. But I need to set more definite goals, like having such-and-such done before lunchtime, because that helps me get things done. The thing about ADHD for me is I have a lot of stuff I want to do in my heart, but in the moment it's easier to just watch one more YouTube video or something like that. Maybe I should just block YouTube, Pinterest, etc., until a certain time of day. And stop watching TV in the morning if I have something to do in the morning.

But I did get a little done today. Ages ago, my dad bought a treadmill--he used to be super into running and walking, and would go on walks or sometimes runs for a couple hours each day a lot of the time, so he invested in one, i guess just for when he got home late or it was too hot/cold for a walk, etc. He hasn't been into walking for several years, but I thought I'd start using it to get back into my old routine of taking a walk every day, except this time on the treadmill! Maybe I'll start off my morning with that, to get me motivated for the day. In fact, I think I'll do that tomorrow!

Anyways, the big thing recently is that Green, Blue and I went up to St. Louis, which is a few hours away from us! They have a K-pop store there, and some other things we wanted to go see. Part of this was supposed to be a do-over for a trip we had ages ago that was kind of crap, and part of it was a sequel to the trip that Blue and I took there last year. (I'd link the post if I'd moved it over to my new blog yet!) But when we got there, after we went to Daiso (vastly inferior to the Korean Daiso), we found out the K-pop store was closed that day for some reason? Even though the store's Web site hadn't said so.

I had my first Raising Cane's, which was really good! But sadly we had to give up on the bing su we were going to have as it was too far out of the way. The St. Louis art museum was really cool, and they had this cool exhibit on '20s fashion and cars in France! It was epic. The rest of the museum was cool too, although we had to rush to get out before it closed.

We also went to the World Market and got some cool snacks, although I wish there was more variety and honestly by this time I was hangry. We had Indian for dinner and I had a delicious chicken tikka masala with a mango dassi (I hope I spelt that right), which was a kind of yogourt smoothie type this that was also amazing! But then I got home really late. The whole trip was fun but with some little annoyances and honestly maybe that's why I've been so tired and whatever this week.

Anyways, that's about it. I hope I'll have a better day tomorrow and I want to work to make that happen!

I finally finished my bio class! Friday, I submitted my last assignment and did my last test (which I got an A on by the way! :D) and had an ice cream bar and a little cup of ice cream to celebrate! Now I have almost two months of summer ahead of me. I'm taking a day trip with the gang (I reallllly need to make a masterpost with my friends' blog names and whatnot!) on Tuesday, and otherwise I hope to work some more on my hobbies! I crocheted some today, and I hope to work more on my blog and site as well. I wanted to work on it some this afternoon, but my K-drama was too engrossing and I have work at 5, so this is all you're getting for now...

I have kind of an insane story to tell about work the other day but that can wait--and it has to, since I have to finish getting ready for work. I just wanted to revel briefly in my victory against the on-line class! Hopefully an experience that I'll never have to repeat. Although a summer abroad might be nice--especially as I'm already planning on doing two semesters of study abroad. If I had my way, I'd get a third semester abroad in Korea--but I suppose the world doesn't always go my way. And I have friends here in the States, too--love y'all, if any of them are reading!--that I want to keep developing friendships with. Maybe I can use a bit of my money from work this summer to save up for a second trip to Korea... we'll see! And I'll see y'all again soon--toodles!

Okay, so my week itself was pretty boring, but I had quite the exciting day yesterday!

I started it off right by calling a certain someone, and that's all I'll say!

Then I went to a birthday lunch for a family member. Except I didn't know it was a birthday lunch, or that the birthday girl was even attending, or even who she was. Or half the people there, either. But it's okay! I did go into the women's bathroom and come out of the (only) stall face-to-face with my aunt and cousin (to whom I'm closeted--but my cousin is a high school art teacher, so I don't think she cares at least) and had to make some excuse. But anyways, beside that it was cool! I got to see #2-#4, and show everybody my pictures from Korea, and have some nice chit-chat with what family members I did know. And I had quite a good lunch!

I also met a new cousin--this one a second cousin--that I had never met before, but we clocked each other as trans pretty much right off the bat. Which wasn't hard, to be fair, as that cousin literally had a trans flag bracelet. But he apparently also likes K-pop--although much more casually than me--so I might have myself a new friend-cousin! Except that the cousin is young enough that it feels weird to be all buddy-buddy with him right off.

Anyways, after we all left, just the group I know (including this new long-lost trans cousin) all went to the Dairy Queen to get ice cream. And I realized my art teacher cousin--who I haven't seen in a couple of years--is kind of the spitting image of one of my good friends from college who's also a language major and future teacher. I texted this friend about this and she joked that they might also be long-lost cousins! Hence the title.

Then I went back to my hometown and Blue, Green and I went out on the town! As much as we could in this weather, anyways. We went to a little CD/DVD shop, a book store and a vintage store! My haul is a DVD of High School Musical, VHS tapes of The Muppet Christmas Carol and Mary Poppins, Julia Child's My Life In France, a jean maxi skirt and a cute nightgown! An excellent haul, methinks. We also had Thai for dinner and went back to Green's house, where we played Mario Party with his little siblings! It was a busy day but a really fun one.

Today was much less eventful--I watched TV and went to work--but oh well! I'm having a nice relaxing evening. :) I'll talk to all y'all later--toodles!

Okay, I thought summer break was when you're supposed to be sitting around all day doing nothing and resting, right? Because that's definitely not been my experience!

Friday I went to visit my grandparents as well as cousins #2-#4. #2 and #3 came with my grandparents and my great-aunt to meet us for lunch at a little bar and grill in a nearby town, where I had a lovely burger and fries. And then I was supposed to play Minecraft with those two once we got back to my grandparents' house (with difficulty, because some torrential floods made roads literally impassable--we would've drowned like that old couple in the movie Titanic--but my grandma had a bunch of clothes for me, and so #3 and I got distracted putting on a fashion show. She also put my hair up in a messy bun, which I'd never done before, but I really liked it! Although, #justclosetedthings, she said it made my face look "too feminine". To which I replied, "duly noted".

I let her build a secret base in (a copy of) my Minecraft forever world, as #2 was playing on it. We were all supposed to play together, but #3 took long enough that #4 got home, and so we couldn't. He's adorable, but he commands a lot of attention. Which I suppose makes sense, what with his being six and all. Anyways, we had Casey's pizza (yech) for dinner, I somehow got to watch half of Transformers One (I wasn't much fonder of that than the pizza), and got out of there hopelessly late. And didn't remember everything, so my grandparents, #2 and #3 met us for lunch somewhere in between our houses the other day. It was this terribly depressing buffet--not good at all. And #2, when I brought up k-dramas, went on an unfunny joke tirade calling them "gay-dramas" (whilst simultaneously trying to get me into anime, which seems like some sort of contradiction). But oh well, what can you do about it.

Besides that, I've been hanging out with Green and Blue! Last night, we went over to Blue's house, and we watched Sister Act (a splendid movie) and Blue made us some delicious lentil soup and watermelon juice! And we were very well-fed beside that. I mean, we were basically having a five-course meal throughout the night like some sort of French nobility. We also went to a little local art show last weekend! And then Blue (Green was busy) came round and we watched Dance Moms and played Wii Sports. I wasn't able to hang out with my friends this much, or perhaps I just wasn't as motivated to, but I love hanging out a lot more. Even if it does mean I don't have as much time to myself, with my class and my work as well--c'est la vie, and hanging out with my friends is worth it!

Speaking of work, I have to go get ready, because I have to be at work in half an hour. I remember the time going faster last year, but maybe that's just a mandela effect or something. In any case, I only have to work four hours tonight! Much better than the eight I have to put in tomorrow and Saturday. But alas. Toodles!

A Fun Day!

I've had kind of a boring week so far, so it was really nice to have a fun day today! Blue and Green came round, which was the first time in almost a year that we've all three hung out together! I showed them my photos from Korea and my K-pop stash and we spent a good while nattering, which was quite refreshing. And then we watched Julie and Julia--which might be my favourite movie now after I watched it at college a couple months ago! It was a really delightful time.

I also hung out with Blue on Sunday! We were originally supposed to all have lunch, but Green had to cancel at the last minute unfortunately. Blue and I still got lunch, though, although it was at about our fifth choice restaurant since apparently everything is closed on Sunday? I've lived here my whole life and I don't remember that ever happening. Maybe it's a new trend or something? Anyways, we also went to a little bookshop, walked around, went to the city museum and got some boba! It was really fun :)

I start back at work next week! I'm not really looking forward to it :( but at least I'll be making money! Hopefully I'll make back enough to pay for A) my insane K-pop haul from Korea and B) the unreasonably high fees I got charged when I moved out of my dorm because I made the mistake--which I'll never make again--of sticking posters to dry wall. Although there were a couple charges that probably should have gone to my roommate, my parents encouraged me to take the high road (easier in this case as I would've had to argue) and not combat it. I should probably be taking the high road more often in general. Sometimes I worry that I'm too much of a bitch. I'm not one, I don't think, but it's one of those worries, you know?

I'm going to go now! I'm going to try to get into bed at a decent hour tonight, compared to the 12:30-1:00 I've been getting since getting back form

Here are this week's Friday Five! The photo of my K-pop haul from Korea is still yet to come as I'm currently organizing my mess of a room. I've taken two photos but I forgot a single album in both of them--a different one each time--and I want to post the full haul.

This week's questions:

1. What was the best gift you received?
Well, I can't remember all time right now, so I'll say my two examples from the last year. For one, I got my 2009 white MacBook (which I'm writing this on) as a gift from my mum a few months ago, although I think I'm supposed to pay her back eventually. And at Christmas this past year, I got a Verivery lightstick!

2. What was the worst gift you received?
At Christmas when I was around ten years old, I got a book called "The Guide for Young Men", which... well, obviously, not a very good gift. I think I got rid of it the second I got home, but I flipped through at the Christmas party and I remember it had guides to barbecuing and flirting with girls, neither of which are things I've ever done or have any desire to ever do.

3. What gift did you wish for, but never got?
Whenever I was around eight years old, I really wanted an iPod classic for Christmas for some reason. They were really expensive to give to an eight year old, and I think by Christmastime they had been discontinued anyway, and I only ever listened to two albums anyways--Red by Taylor Swift and the Teen Beach Movie soundtrack. And so I got a cheapo MP3 player instead, although I did end up getting an iPod classic eventually, so I guess I didn't never get it, but this is the best example i could think of.

4. What was the best present you gave?
Well, one that comes to mind is my best friend Blue's birthday present this year, or rather part of it. But I haven't actually given it yet, so I don't want to spoil it in case he's reading my blog!

5. What was the worst present you gave?
A couple years ago, for his birthday I got my friend Pink one of those romance books called "Lessons in Chemistry" or something. I think it was trending at the time and I thought he'd like it, but I've heard since that it was kind of crap, and it's definitely not anything I'd personally read.

Well, holy crap, y'all! I meant to post this weekend, but my weekend was too jam-packed!

Saturday morning, the two kids I teach English played each other in little league soccer (or whatever it's called. I may be a soccer teacher (does that exist?) but I'm not a soccer mom yet. In any case, I think I might sign my kids up for dance instead.) and since one of the members of my English teaching group is coach for one of their teams, a lot of us went out to support them! It was also a sort of team-building activity, but, y'know, an actually fun one--not a ropes course or crap like that. I HATE ROPES COURSES! Which is why I've always come up with excuses not to go on them. Ha ha ha! Anyways, one of the kids comes from Latin America, and his family had a bunch of snacks from their home country that they shared with us, which was really sweet of them! I don't remember the name, but it was some sort of special bread with chicken, mayo and some various veggies. They were so good! I even got to take one home for dinner that night.

And then as soon as I got home, two of my roommates and I went and had pizza and ice cream! It was really fun, even though I'm always at odds with one of them. I mean, with my three current roommates, I have one I love, that one I have a love-hate relationship with, and the other one that I'm just always annoyed with--but enough of airing my dirty laundry on the Internet. It was a really nice time! And I got them both to like a k-pop song--MAGO by GFRIEND, to be exact.

Then that night, a friend and I went to Wal-Mart! We're in the K-Pop Club together at our college, and we were buying some presents for two of our members, since we have one graduating and one transferring.

The next day, another friend and I went to this little Chinese restaurant in town (who had maybe the best beef and broccoli and vegetable lo mein I've ever had!!) and then went to Wal-Mart again! This time we got a prize for the activity we had planned for our meeting tonight (a Kahoot where we guessed who added what song to our group Spotify playlist) and I got some DVDs, and I got a cookie cake (because I lurrrve cookie cakes) for our meeting tonight. And then I called Blue and Green (for any newcomers to my blog, Blue is my bestie for the restie that I've known since middle school, and Green is our other best friend from high school) until pretty late.

And then there was today! We had our last k-pop club meeting of the semester tonight, and it was a little emotional. Both our leaving members really liked their gifts, which was really heartwarming! I'm gonna miss them all so much but I'm so glad I've gotten to know them. :)

(There was some more here but my browser crashed and I lost it! Grr D:< )

What can I do but dread the next two weeks? The finals countdown has begun! I have one more mini-assignment each in compuer science, linguistics and statistics, but beside that everything's in full finals swing. I already have my French final essay assignment, and I'm getting my English one tomorrow. I suppose I should start studying for statistics as well today, and computer science later on. But I'm quite tired and wish I didn't have to! But I just have to remind myself that I only have a week and a half left till I can blow this popsicle stand! I just have to power through and probably drink a lot of tea to do so.

The past few days have actually been quite good, however! The calm before the storm, I guess. Friday afternoon, I had my stats test, and I actually think I did well! And then I sat down underneath a tree and read for a while before dinner, which was absolutely idyllic! I felt like a character in a novel, almost. I hope I can catch some more moments of peace like that! I kind of did the next day, too, actually, because I went to my friend's birthday picnic! It was in this cute local park and all the food was really good. It was super fun! Although I did sunburn my nose. :(

Yesterday was pretty run-of-the-mill. I had this really cute outfit on that my pastor's wife complimented at church! She and her husband are both so sweet. I've seen their son, too--he goes to college in a different city--and I thought he was really handsome. :) Sadly, he's graduating anyways, but oh well. Anyways, my English teaching also went well yesterday--it was one of my students' birthdays and so we had a little party for him, and he gave me a few of his duplicate Pokemon cards! The girl who taught the kids before me was right when she said eventually they kind of feel like "your" kids. :)

And that brings me to today. I have to do linguistics homework and start working on my French paper--ugh! I have no clue what I'm going to write about. And there's something else I'm forgetting. And classes, and a club meeting tonight, which is the bright spot in my day, even though it's just making me even busier. But oh well. Now I should probably start paying attention to my French class again. Toodles!

Pre-Summer

Back at ya again! Now I'm sitting in my library. I never normally go to the library on weekends, or in the evening, but I always love it when I do so maybe I should more often! Anyways, even though a few weeks ago I was kind of dreading summer, I don't think I am anymore. I can work to keep myself busy, and at least one of my friends should be in town so I can hang out! And I'm (fingers crossed) FINALLY going to get my license (yes, I still don't have it, and yes, I'm more embarrassed about it than you are shocked) over the summer so I might be able to visit some of my college friends! Also, I put together a summer playlist that I've been jamming to over the past few days! (Actually, I just had to pause midsentence writing that in order to jam out to All Mine by f(x). So I've been having a pretty epic time.)

Also, I've been having such a hectic week! I'll really miss my friends, but I won't miss the work (although I do love my English class) and I won't miss the roommate drama, which I won't even get into here because I'm trying to get over it and let it go, but suffice it to say I've had a dramatic week. And then yesterday I spent all day until like 9:00 PM working on my compsci homework! I had the whole suite of emotions, from "I'm dropping this like it's hot" to "I love this it's so fun!", and I had basically no human interaction all day yesterday either, which made for a treat. But despite not getting enough sleep last night, I've had a pretty chill day today! I even chose on a whim to eat dinner outside since it was really nice out, although I had to come inside the library for the last little bit since the wind got pretty cold all of a sudden.

But yeah, it's been a pretty good day! I'll try to work more on the site tomorrow if I have time. Also, my polycarbonate MacBook has become an object of admiration from other people! Just now a couple clubmates of mine complimented me on it, and this guy in my stats class (who I don't really like but that's a different story) did too. It's so cute and I really need to put it on my computers page! I actually think I'll do that just now. Toodles!
